ILLY Espresso Intenso Bold Roast is bold, energetic, and straightforward: a blend with strong, genuine flavors and notes of cocoa, perfectly complemented by toasted bread and caramel undertones.
The illy blend consists of nine Arabica varieties from the best harvests on three continents, handpicked by expert pickers. Each variety adds a unique note to the final cup. The proportion of each Arabica is constantly evaluated to ensure a perfect and consistent flavor—the signature illy taste known worldwide for over 80 years.
When coffee comes into contact with air, 40% of its aroma is lost within eight hours. To preserve freshness, coffee is typically vacuum-packed. However, illy has used a different, patented technology for decades. In illy cans, inert gas (nitrogen) is pressurized, capturing and fixing the aromas for long-lasting protection. Like fine wine, coffee in illy cans matures, developing a rounder, more refined flavor. Nitrogen is not an additive and immediately dissipates once the can is opened.
